We're going to be in London and after covering the London sights we wish to go out of london for a couple of (long) day trips. We like to self guide and have a gps with england on it.
1. Rent a car outside of London
I'd suggest the train - much faster and less stressful than driving on our congested roads. Advance purchase tickets are the cheapest; tickets for immediate travel are cheaper after 09-30am weekdays, anytime weekends; most rail companies in south east
