Does the timing belt have to be changed on a 2004 Hyundai Sante Fe ?

My girlfriends son just bought a 2004 Sante Fe with 100k miles on it. Should he have the timing beltchanged if it has not been done? Is there anything else he should be aware of?
Most defiantly and as soon as you can. They are due to be replaced every 48 months or 60k which ever comes first. after that they tend to get brittle and if it breaks it can cause engine damage. If it is a 2.7L or 3.5L there is only one belt. If it is
