my work truck, 1977 ford f700, 361 gasoline engine, needs more pulling power, will a performance chip work?

Don't hold me to this because I could be wrong ( I doubt it, but maybe)... but I do not believe there is any form of "chip" for that vehicle... it's not an ECU driven system.
