What was the stock timing set on for a 1983Ford 302?
The engine has trouble starting, and once its started, it won't idle while in gear (Park and Neutral are fine). To get taken off, you must pat the gas to keep it from dying; but once
Without seeing the truck i would sugget replaceing the carbuerator next. On engine start up it needs a very rich mixture to start and to keep it running untill it warms up. the choke pulloffs need to be operating and your power circuit inside the carb.
