AAA Recognizes 45 W.Va. Law Enforcement Agencies

Getting pulled over while driving may seem like the end of the world, but it really means law enforcement officers are doing their duties in keeping drivers safe.
AAA is recognized 45 north central West Virginia agencies for the traffic efforts at a luncheon Tuesday.
"An officer may detect an incident in their community that needs addressing. We call that an initiative. What they do is they create a program to address that because it's going to protect the citizens of the community," said J.J. Miller of AAA.
In different areas, the initiatives are different.
"Our primary initiative [in Taylor County] has been DUI enforcement," said Chief Deputy Terring Skinner of the Taylor County Sheriff's Department.
But Clarksburg police focus on speeding, especially with Route 50 and Interstate 79 in city limits, Chief Marshall Goff said.
No matter the issue, AAA wants all law enforcement to address it. Thursday it recognized the agencies that did so effectively, including city, county and state authorities.
