NSTA announced it will again apply for EPA clean diesel funds that were announced earlier this month.
The money is tied to the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) program for retrofits such as diesel particulate filters, idle reduction equipment such as direct-fuel heaters and replacement buses. Since 2003, NSTA has secured over $4.7 million in federal funds for retrofits, idle reduction equipment, and new buses for its members.
