<strong><span class="subhead">Broncos 38, Raiders 24</span></strong></p><p>OAKLAND, Calif. | If the Broncos can keep running the ball like this, they won&#x2019;t need to rely much on Tim Tebow&#x2019;s arm to win games.</p><p>Eddie Royal returned a punt 85 yards for the tie-breaking score, Willis McGahee ran for 163 yards, and Tebow threw two touchdown passes as the Broncos moved within a game of first place in the AFC West.</p><p>McGahee had a 60-yard touchdown run that tied the game on the first play after Carson Palmer threw his second interception for the Raiders, 4-4, and then added a 24-yarder to ice it in the closing minutes.</p><p>The Broncos, 3-5, didn&#x2019;t allow the Raiders&#x2019; offense to generate anything in the fourth quarter and won for the second time in three games with Tebow as the starter.</p><p>Tebow did much of his damage with his legs, rushing for a career-high 117 yards in 12 carries. He also finished 10 for 21 for 124 yards passing, but didn&#x2019;t need to do much on a day Denver ran for 298 yards &#x2014; its highest total since a 300-yard game against Seattle in 2000.</p><p>&#x201C;I thought he improved throwing the ball,&#x201D; Broncos coach John Fox said of Tebow. &#x201C;I think he&#x2019;s always run the ball pretty effectively. He&#x2019;s very competitive by nature. You see evidence of that. Now it&#x2019;s just learning how to be an NFL quarterback. In my opinion he&#x2019;s gotten better each time out.&#x201D;</p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Jets 27, Bills 11</span></strong></p><p>ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. | Linebacker Bart Scott and the New York Jets are accustomed to playing the role of villains. So Scott didn&#x2019;t feel any pangs of regret for putting a big dent in the Buffalo Bills and their feel-good start.</p><p>&#x201C;Everybody loves Cinderella stories,&#x201D; Scott said, referring to the Bills. &#x201C;We&#x2019;ve always been portrayed as the bad guys, but we relish in that role.&#x201D;</p><p>And just like that, the big, bad, brash-talking Jets are back after Scott was part of a stifling win.</p><p>Rex Ryan&#x2019;s defense forced three turnovers and twice stopped the Bills on fourth down. The slow-starting Mark Sanchez-led offense finally got into gear in the second half to help New York win its third straight and improve to 5-3 and catch Buffalo and New England in the standings.</p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Giants 24, Patriots 20</span></strong></p><p>FOXBOROUGH, Mass. | Eli Manning hit Jake Ballard for a 1-yard touchdown with 15 seconds left for the victory after Tom Brady threw a 14-yard pass to Rob Gronkowski, making it 20-17 with 1:36 to go. </p><p>New York was helped by a 20-yard pass-interference penalty against safety Sergio Brown of the Patriots that put the ball at the 1 with 30 seconds left. Three plays later, Manning found Ballard in the back left corner of the end zone.</p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Bengals 24, Titans 17</span></strong></p><p>NASHVILLE, Tenn. | Andy Dalton threw for three touchdowns and 217 yards, and the Bengals rallied from a 10-point deficit and got their fifth straight victory. The Bengals last won five in a row in 1988 when they took the AFC championship and went to their second Super Bowl. They also improved to 4-1 on the road as rookie quarterback Dalton led them to 17 consecutive points. Chris Johnson had 110 yards from scrimmage, but the Titans blew a 17-7 halftime lead when the offense shut down in the second half. </p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Texans 30, Browns 12</span></strong></p><p>HOUSTON | Arian Foster rushed for 124 yards, Ben Tate ran for 115, and both scored touchdowns as Houston rolled.</p><p>The Texans, 6-3, finished with a franchise-record 261 yards rushing and had two 100-yard rushers for the second time in three games. They moved three games over .500 for the first time.</p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Cardinals 19, Rams 13, OT</span></strong></p><p>GLENDALE, Ariz. | Rookie cornerback Patrick Peterson returned a punt 99 yards for a touchdown in overtime as the Cardinals ended a six-game losing streak. Arizona&#x2019;s Calais Campbell blocked Josh Brown&#x2019;s 42-yard, field-goal attempt as regulation ended to force the overtime.</p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Saints 27, Buccaneers 16</span></strong></p><p>NEW ORLEANS | Drew Brees passed for 258 yards and two touchdowns, and New Orleans gained 195 yards on the ground.</p><p>Brees&#x2019; scoring passes went for 3 yards to Lance Moore and 21 yards to Darren Sproles. Pierre Thomas added a tackle-breaking, 9-yard score for the Saints, who watched their running game bounce back after gaining only 56 yards at St. Louis a week earlier.</p><p><strong><span class="subhead">49ers 19, Washington 11</span></strong></p><p>LANDOVER, Md. | Frank Gore ran for 107 yards, and the NFL&#x2019;s stingiest scoring defense forced three turnovers as the 49ers ran their winning streak to six games. The 49ers improved to 7-1 and have their longest winning streak since 1997. They are also 4-0 on the road for the first time since 1992 and hold a commanding lead in the NFC West. Alex Smith completed 17 of 24 passes for 197 yards.</p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Cowboys 23, Seahawks 13</span></strong></p><p>ARLINGTON, Texas | Tony Romo had no trouble moving the ball from the start, but the Cowboys settled for field goals on consecutive drives that stalled at the 2 and inside the 1. On the next series, Dez Bryant was inside the 1 when a hit he never saw coming caused him to fumble the ball away. Tied at 6-6 coming out for the second half, Dallas pulled away behind Romo&#x2019;s touchdown passes of 33 yards to Jason Witten and 6 yards to Laurent Robinson.</p><p><strong><span class="subhead">Falcons 31, Colts 7</span></strong></p><p>INDIANAPOLIS | Rookie Julio Jones caught touchdown passes of 50 and 80 yards as the Falcons won their third straight game. Jones caught three passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns in his return from a hamstring injury. He also ran twice for 33 yards.
