Is phobia of being struck by lightening irrational?

Nowadays u hear more stories of people being struck by lightening.. Makes my phobia even worse, is it irrational or being cautious. I literally duck for cover right infront of people on the street when I hear a thunder, really embarrassing...

It has become a little bit out of control your fear if you do that ...but it makes sense to find shelter inside a building if you hear thunder because there will be lightening as well and it's safer inside than outside. If outside one should keep low...not
